The project

The Agency for Integration & Civic Integration (AGII) is committed to the smooth and sustainable activation of newcomers in a civic integration program toward employment in the regular labor market. This is done through a collaboration with JobRoad, which has expertise in matchmaking between newcomers and employers and in setting up orientation pathways for candidates in sectors with real employment opportunities. The project combines intensive individual guidance with sector-specific preparation and sustainable follow-up.

Who is it for?

The project is aimed at newcomers who need guidance with their first steps in the labor market. By strengthening their competencies and motivation and matching them realistically with employers, we increase their chances of sustainable employment.

How does the pathway work?

The pathway runs in phased periods of three months, built around three pillars: orient, connect and sustain.

  • Orient – The pathway starts with a workshop in which we map candidates’ competencies and talents and provide insight into sectors, shortage occupations and the reality of the labor market
  • Connect – An individual intake interview is followed by a period of individual guidance and matchmaking with employers through screening, competency assessment and inclusive recruitment methods.
  • Sustain – 1 month of aftercare after the start, to achieve sustainable employment and to pay attention to an inclusive work context.

In addition, we organize orientation pre-pathways and sector-specific talent tables, such as information sessions, company visits and job fairs, in collaboration with sector funds and employers.

Our approach

Regional operation: Flanders and Brussels, divided into six regions, with local job coaches who respond quickly to regional needs.

Quarterly cycle: orientation workshops every quarter, followed by individual guidance and active matching with employers.

Structure: 30 workshops per year, an average of 15 participants per session, and 360 individual guidance pathways annually with an activation rate of 30%.

On behalf of the Agency for Integration & Civic Integration, JobRoad will guide newcomers toward a job in the period 19/12/2025 – 21/12/2027. It aims for 360 individual guidance pathways per year.
