Atlas: Talent Netwerken Antwerpen
With this project, we strengthen newcomers’ opportunities in the labor market. We build bridges between talent and employers and make sure that candidates who are further removed from work can also enter employment sustainably.
The project
In Antwerp, JobRoad works together with Atlas to guide newcomers, including those in a civic integration program, toward work. We support candidates in their search for a sustainable job, with extra attention to those who do not receive benefits and often find it harder to access the labor market. This project is carried out with the support of the Government of Flanders.
Who is it for?
For newcomers in Antwerp, including those in a civic integration program, who do not receive benefits and are motivated to work but could use extra support.
How does the pathway work?
- Labor market workshops – Candidates take part in group workshops in which they gain insight into the labor market. We give an overview of the most common sectors, the related jobs, and the competencies and expectations within each sector. The aim is to work toward realistic job targets.
- Individual guidance – Each candidate goes through an intensive three-month pathway, supplemented by one month of aftercare if employment is found. We provide support with screening, job hunting and job applications, and also offer guidance in the workplace after the start.
- Talententafels (talent tables) via matchmaking events – candidates meet employers directly. This takes place through, among other things, speed dates, company visits and interactive formats such as recruitment games.
- Bridge to work – We actively make use of employment instruments such as IBO, IBO-T, BIS internships and learning jobs to make the step into work smaller.
- Focus on shortage occupations – Together with employers and sector funds, we focus on sectors that offer many opportunities, such as healthcare, logistics, industry, cleaning and construction.
Our approach
- A combination of workshops, individual guidance and Talententafels
- Strong focus on talents and growth potential
- A direct link with employers and concrete vacancies
- Use of learning and working pathways as a stepping stone to work
- Attention to sustainable employment
