Interreg

Interreg – “My Work, My Future”

About the project

My Work, My Future strengthens the labour market in Flanders and South Netherlands by sustainably guiding new talent into sectors with a high demand for workers. The project focuses primarily on people with a migration background (newcomers, refugees, participants in civic integration programmes, and recognised refugees), both low- and highly-skilled. It supports them in finding employment in production and logistics through targeted coaching and training.

Through cross-border cooperation, Flemish and Dutch partners combine their expertise: Flanders focuses on competence development and training, while the Netherlands focuses on practical, workplace-based learning. Together, they create a strong chain of screening, training, and employment.

What we do

Within My Work, My Future, JobRoad strengthens the link between employers and jobseekers with a migration background or a greater distance to the labour market. We do this through three core actions:

  1. Convincing employers of inclusive talent

We make vacancies accessible to the target group by actively approaching employers in Flanders and the Netherlands. We inform them about the added value of inclusive recruitment and encourage them to open vacancies without a CV requirement (blind hiring). To do so, we rely on both our existing network and new partnerships.

  1. Job matching according to our three-phase model

We guide candidates and employers step by step towards a sustainable match:

Kickstart

Companies present their operations, teams and open positions to pathway coaches from the social sector. They commit to engaging with candidates without barriers.

Screening & Matching

During a screening, candidates are assessed on motivation, learning ability and competencies. JobRoad then matches them with suitable vacancies or with relevant next steps.

Project Week

Selected candidates explore the workplace, meet HR managers and receive targeted support. Candidates who are not yet ready for employment are referred to training, workshops or an alternative pathway better suited to their situation.

  1. Strong Flemish anchoring

In Flanders, JobRoad takes on the entire pre-employment trajectory: prospecting, awareness-raising, screening, matching and guidance. Thanks to close cooperation with sector funds and a broad network of ambassador companies, candidates gain more opportunities and employers gain better access to motivated talent.

Partners

The project builds on the combined expertise of seven partners:

  • RTC West Flanders (Coordination)
  • HOGENT (Research, Inclusion Assessment)
  • JobRoad vzw (Activation pathways, Screening/Workshops in Flanders)
  • PlastIQ (Recognised training centre)
  • Stichting Avans (Research, HR expertise, Guidance in the Netherlands)
  • Eurojob B.V. (Employer network, in-company training in the Netherlands)
  • Cohedron (Connection with municipalities and local authorities)

The complementarity of these partners enables a seamless chain of orientation, training and sustainable employment.

Project commitments: with the support of Interreg and under the lead of the Regional Technological Centre, JobRoad will — between 01/10/2025 and 30/09/2028 — organise 10 kickstart events, screening days and workshops, screen 500 candidates and guide up to 80 candidates towards a personalised training pathway in Flanders.
