The project

Within the Jobspot project, JobRoad and InBrussel join forces to sustainably guide NEET youth in Brussels (young people who are not in employment, education or training) toward work.

The project combines intensive individual coaching with direct matchmaking with employers, so that young people can work step by step toward a job that suits them.

Who is it for?

The project is aimed at NEET youth in the Brussels Region who struggle to connect with the labor market and need guidance, structure and opportunities to discover and make use of their talents.

How does the pathway work?

The pathway consists of two strong, complementary components:

Coaching by InBrussel: young people are introduced to the pathway through job day simulations and can then join an intensive, tailored individual coaching pathway.

Matchmaking through JobRoad: young people are connected with employers through the three-phase model:

  • Kickstart – Employers present their organization and vacancies and commit to meeting young people through blind hiring (without a CV).
  • Screening & Matching – Young people are screened on motivation, competencies and learning ability, and matched with suitable vacancies.
  • Project week – Young people discover the workplace and talk with employers. If necessary, the search continues for other opportunities within the network.

Our approach

  • Personal guidance: intensive coaching tailored to each young person
  • Lowering barriers: focus on talent and motivation rather than diploma or CV
  • Strong employer network: companies are actively made aware and involved
  • Blind hiring: fair opportunities through selection without prejudice
  • Practice-oriented: direct introduction to the workplace and employers

Impact

  • More opportunities for sustainable employment for NEET youth
  • Breaking down barriers such as language, mobility and limited work experience
  • Strengthening self-confidence, motivation and future prospects
  • Active contribution to an inclusive labor market in Brussels
