Over the past year, the OCMW (public social welfare center) of Lier sustainably activated 196 living-wage recipients into work, performing 17% better than the Flemish average. Intensive, tailor-made guidance proves to be the key: at the end of June, the Lier city council extended and expanded its collaboration with JobRoad, so that an additional 100 living-wage recipients will receive three months of intensive guidance on their pathway to work.
In addition to the individual approach, the city and OCMW of Lier are investing in the collective track Jobatelier+, job fairs and company visits, so that living-wage recipients get to know the workplace firsthand.
